They remain involved with several of these businesses today.
Greg left the Dallas corporate scene in 1991 to pursue a business opportunity on Possum Kingdom Lake. He and his wife purchased a marina, café, and condos known asScenic Point. That quickly grew into the development of Rafters Restaurant, acquiring four more marinas, and three boat dealerships. In 2006 they sold out of the business to retire in Graham, Texas.
Greg came out of retirement in 2009 to acquire FMC Feeds. FMC Feeds is involved in milling and manufacturing primarily cattle and horse feed. He and his wife also own and operate grain elevators. During this time, their love for raising Black Angus cattle and ranching came to fruition. They currently run approximately 450 head of cattle, and remain involved in FMC Feeds and their cattle operation.
Greg and Kathy were approached in 2014 to invest in and take over as CEO and CFO of Lueders Limestone rock quarry in Lueders, Texas. They were responsible for the day-to-day operations, making the business profitable, and merging other quarries with Lueders. They accomplished these initiatives in three short years before selling. In the same year they purchased Allen Angus Ranch. Allen Angus Ranch was a 6,000-acre working cattle ranch in Allen, Oklahoma. They owned and operated the ranch for four years before selling.
They founded Amplified Solutions, LLC in 2018. The mission was to provide bandwidth and support to entrepreneurial businesses including C-Suite services, exit strategy planning, sales force and/or Forensic accounting support. Through this venture they were presented an opportunity to purchase Nix Door and Hardware, a residential building product sales company in Fort Worth, Texas. They have expanded Nix through an industrial real estate acquisition in Van Alstyne, Texas and a business acquisition in Carrollton, Texas. They remain involved in the day-to-day operations of Nix.
